Building Inclusive Classrooms: A Workshop for Gurukul Global Teachers

Gurukul Global School recently organised an insightful workshop on Inclusive Education for its teachers, led by Ms. Lavneet, the school’s Special Educator and Academic Counsellor. The session focused on refreshing the teachers’ knowledge and help them strategise to foster an Inclusive learning environment in their classrooms.
Ms. Lavneet discussed the history and policies of Inclusive education, emphasizing the importance of equal opportunities for all students, including those with disabilities and learning challenges.
 
She highlighted the crucial role teachers play in identifying diverse learning needs and adapting their teaching methods to accommodate them. The workshop stressed the importance of collaboration between teachers, parents, school leaders, and students to create a supportive atmosphere. Practical strategies such as differentiated instruction, flexible assessments, and assistive technologies were shared to address the varying needs of students. Creating an empathetic environment and inclusive classroom culture where every student feels valued, was also emphasized upon by the speaker. By the end of the session, the teachers were empowered with the tools to ensure all students are given the opportunity to thrive.
